Job Summary:
Behavioral Specialist III is an advanced-level position responsible for leadership in behavior management, staff training, and program development. This role requires significant experience in crisis intervention, behavior analysis, and trauma-informed practices, and it often serves as a liaison between direct care teams and clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • All duties of Behavioral Specialist II, plus: 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans in collaboration with clinical staff. 
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and provide recommendations for treatment adjustments. 
  • Lead training sessions for staff on crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management. 
  • Act as a lead responder to high-risk incidents, providing direct crisis support and guidance. 
  • Oversee data collection and analysis related to behavioral patterns and intervention effectiveness. 
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, direct care teams, and administrative leadership. 
  • Participate in program development and continuous improvement initiatives. 
Qualifications & Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavior Analysis, or a related field preferred. 
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with youth in a behavioral health or residential setting. 
  • Extensive knowledge of behavior management, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques. 
  • Experience in training, program development, and leadership. 
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), or similar preferred. 
  • Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements. 
Work Environment & Physical Requirements (All Levels): 
  • Ability to engage in crisis intervention and physical restraint techniques when necessary. 
  • Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. 
  • Exposure to emotionally challenging situations requiring patience, resilience, and strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
