Overview:
The Educational Liaison plays a key role in facilitating students' educational needs within the General Residential Operation (GRO). This position ensures communication between the GRO and school districts, collaborates on educational services, and addresses the academic needs of students receiving treatment. The Educational Liaison focuses on engaging with families and the community while assisting students in achieving their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Community Engagement: 
    • Collaborate with students, families, and school districts to support students’ academic success and well-being. 
    • Work with schools to request Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and participate in staffing to help develop and modify educational plans. 
    • Attend routine meetings to assess academic progress and recommend necessary adjustments to meet students’ evolving needs.
    •  Foster family and community engagement to ensure consistent support for students' educational and treatment goals. 
  • Educational Support: 
    • Assess tutoring and/or GED preparation needs for students and provide additional one-on-one tutoring to address identified academic gaps. 
    • Collaborate with school districts to ensure the implementation of educational services, including accommodation as outlined in 504 or IEP plans. 
    • Responsible for maintaining the Educational Bidders Qualifications: 
  • Education: 
    • Minimum of AA. 
  • Skills and Competencies: 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and community members effectively. 
    • Ability to assess students' educational needs and provide appropriate support, particularly for diverse populations. 
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
    • Compassionate, understanding approach to working with students in a residential treatment setting. 
Additional Requirements: 
  • Must be able to pass a background check and provide documentation of eligibility to work in the state. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours to attend meetings or events as needed. 
  • Occasional travel may be required for professional development or to attend meetings outside the center.
