Job Summary:
The Direct Care Staff/Driver is responsible for providing supervision, care, and transportation for residents within a Residential Treatment Center (RTC). This position ensures the safety and well-being of residents while maintaining a structured and therapeutic environment. The role also includes transporting residents to appointments, school, court, and other necessary locations in compliance with RTC policies and procedures.

The Direct Care Staff/Driver is responsible for providing supervision, care, and transportation for residents within a Residential Treatment Center (RTC). This position ensures the safety and well-being of residents while maintaining a structured and therapeutic environment. The role also includes transporting residents to appointments, school, court, and other necessary locations in compliance with RTC policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Supervision: Provide direct supervision and support to residents, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules.
- Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from appointments, school, activities, and other locations as needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral incidents and provide immediate support during crises.
- Daily Living Support: Assist residents with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, recreational activities, and educational support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely reports on resident behavior, transportation logs, incident reports, and shift summaries.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe living environment for residents.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow all local, state, and federal guidelines regarding transportation and direct care services.
- Collaboration: Work with case managers, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care and support for residents.
- Role Modeling: Set a positive example by demonstrating appropriate behaviors, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with youth or in a residential treatment setting preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required; CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Skills: Strong communication, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills.
- Other Requirements: Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
